What's in a name?

The_Chieftain: Loatesy, the problem is that although there have been numerous statements that the British named Jackson, nobody has ever shown a British period document doing so. I personally suspect that it's a bit of historical revision: Since "Jackson" fits nicely into the already established pattern of naming certain American vehicles, I theorise that some extrapolation has been involved.
