The Chieftain's Random Musings Thread

The_Chieftain: Soccer is derived from "Assoc."  In the British Isles you'll find Association Football, Rugby Football (itself divided into League and Union rules), and Gaelic football which only the Australians have hard of. As the dominant form, and older than Rugby, we don't use the adjective when talking about Association Football.
