The_Chieftain: Powered.   So apparently in 1948, the Armored Board, who were evidently bored, decided to have a cross-country race around the back woods of Fort Knox. It wasn't even close. The T29 was disqualified pretty early on for being far too slow, the Centurion III exploded, leaving just the M26 to complete the course.
