Why do Some Argue Against Skill Based MM?

View PostSiege_Engine, on Apr 03 2021 - 08:32, said:   A time penalty isn't an argument against skill based MM.  I'll explain one way Skill Based MM could work without a perceptible time difference:     Step 1)  The server assembles 30 players for a battle and puts them in teams A and B -- like it always has.  Delta time = 0.     Step 2)  The server then swaps heavy tank players between team A and B based on skill criteria.  Then TD's.  Then mediums.  Then lights.  Then arty.  Delta time = 0.001 seconds.     See?   Does this method retain the server's legacy MM method?  Yes.  Is the time difference acceptable?  Yes (nobody will notice a thousandths of a second).     I'm sure there are other possible methods, which would be better than this in terms of both time efficiency and skill matching.  This is only to show the time-feasibility of Skill Based MM without needing to think much -- and thus to invalidate the time-penalty argument against skill based MM.

TeriyakiTanker: Next time you run your mouth you might want to read the post I quoted, which was specifically about an optional SBMM for unicums.  But thanks for not actually answering the question I as asking.
