ancient practice of posting the names of players banned for
botting, repetitive team killing, etc.? Back in the day when
Vallter used to do that, it gave some reassurance that the system
was working and the guilty were being punished. Now, as so clearly illustrated by Korlee's post above mine, there's a lot of doubt about the effectiveness of the current system. Many players don't bother to submit complaints in-battle or send support tickets because they feel it's a waste of effort, therefore undermining the system's effectiveness and exacerbating the problem (if it exists).
Simply posting the names of the banned will serve several purposes:
1) It will reassure players that the system is working as intended, improving community morale
2) That will in turn encourage players to assist the system through complaints and support tickets (if necessary)
3) Botters themselves will take heed that their actions are not likely to go undetected, and perhaps some will be discouraged from even trying.
Thank you.
Tanitha: Fair comments.
But no its not been considered to re-introduce that, It was in fact NA office which insisted it be removed.
We have rulings against naming and shaming, so its not really appropriate for us to be doing it ourselves.
