what I was doing. I said scouting. He said your not scouting your
supposed to be dead already if you where.(what I was doing was
charging until I found a tank then sat next to a rock while
arty/any tank would kill him. Then I would charge again.... Well
you know what I did) then I said I am a scout not some idiot and
with that I added him to my ignore list. So my question to you is
should scouts always go dieing at the beginning because if I am
supposed to I am really doing something wrong.Tanitha: Scouting has changed over the time.
Scouting at one stage (before warping as fixed) used to be fun rushing in, killing an artillery or two, then dieing, resulting in reasonable amounts of EXP and credits, and doing your part for the team, then moving onto the next game. But as stated fixing the warping made this nonviable.
Suicide scouting is reasonable for credits when you are credit farming, Although its a bit of a pain for your team who loses a tank too early.
But now the best option IMO is as you have described, Moving forward into a detecting range, and then camping safely while lighting up the enemy for your team mates and arty to destroy.
After all for spotting you get 1/2 the rewards usually.
And the best scout is a undetected one, so not shooting yourself is often the best way for being the most effective.
A TD with a camo crew, and camo net, help with the above, as TD's are harder to spot even before being rigged out with camo.
And a lot of the lower -> midi tier TD's are pretty quick, so nice to quickly get up into a forward spotting position.
But the main thing...
Have fun.
Who cares how other people wish to play.
Play how you enjoy.
