He got fined way, Way, WAY more.2) If compensation were equal to repair cost, this would open the door to griefing: just drive in front of your teammates when they're aiming, keep ramming them, sit in their way, anything to piss them off enough to start shooting you. They get fined, you get fully reimbursed and you're free to do it again next match. TK'ing should be a negative experience for both perpetrator and victim to ensure nobody is going to take advantage of it.
However, +1 to you for keeping your cool and not returning fire.
