Latency/Packet Loss from Western Australia - Update

View PostDazMan, on Dec 20 2011 - 02:45, said: Hello WG,
I have been struggling away with the World of Tanks network issues over the past 6 months.
I decided to test different times of the day and found there to be a dramatic difference.
Normally I play between 6:30pm and 9pm (WA time). At this time the game is not playable. Ping is around 450ms and there is excessive packet loss at routers in the USA.
I have tried a few days playing at 6:00am to 7:30am and the performance is very good. Ping around 300ms and very minimal packet loss.
I'm not sure what these times are where the server is located but perhaps Wargamming or their ISP could investigate the network events and traffic around 6:30pm (WA time) to identify the bottleneck(s).
Cheers

Tanitha: Hi Dazman.
I'm a fellow SandGroper BTW, (If you are old enough to understand that term :)
We really are the most remote place on the earth when it comes to internet, Our net needs to travel 1000's of miles before it even leaves the country.
So any lag issues we have are already escalated due to the lag already being extreme on a good day.
As for your report above, if you could imagine, if it was WG's servers or US related, you would assume it to be most effected in peak NA times.
Not peak AUS times.
The fact that your issues are in peak WA times, means its likely due to all the traffic shoved done one pipe from AUS to USA which is pretty full.
Or the centre in USA who's accepting the AUS traffic from one of only a few incoming cables,, to be overloaded with the Peak AUS traffic.
We don't have many outgoing cables, and earthquakes break them easily, and they don't get fixed or replaced quickly..
I posted some help here.

Doing that you can get a idea of exactly what and where the issue is.
Tan.
