Multi-cluster technology, can someone explain better?

1. How do I know which cluster is optimal for me? Will the game tell me, or do I need to run my own diagnostics pinging clusters etc to figure it out?
2. Won't splitting the North American server into smaller subsets make matchmaker worse? Won't everyone want to be on the cluster with more people for a better experience?
Tanitha: At the moment with the current technology, a server is a server.
There is one in NA, one in EU and one in RU. (+ china which is on a
different setup)
The installation of the multicluster technology has two advantages.
1.
It enables a server to be able to be split in 2, or 3, or 4 etc..
This opens up a lot of new possibilities. With the main one being the ability to split/expand the RU server which is currently overloaded with players.
You wont see any immediate changes on the NA server.
2.
Multicluster is a step forward towards multiserver.
Multiserver will include things like linking the three servers for a global world clan wars map.
Again you wont notice any changes here yet, its just a programming step in a direction WG is heading.
So "at this stage", it wont effect the NA server.
