Yes the max view range is 500m.
But that doesn't mean that view ranges over 500 do nothing..
If you have a view range of 500, and a tank is hidden and cammo'ed, you might see that hidden tank 100m away.
If you have a view range of 550, and a tank is hidden and cammo'ed, you might see that hidden tank 150m away.
As a example. view ranges above 500 do work and do effect visibility, but they dont allow you to view-past 500m.
