How do i play on US server if i chose EU on my client?

Even the fact I have to tell friends which server I am on if they want to sign up and play with me is very annoying. (I can imagine my US friends, of which I have many, adding someone who is not me to there friends list).
If you register a username & email account than it should work on all servers (US, EU & RU). Just my opinion (I'm not on about duplicate accounts, just with holding that username & email at least).
