They are a small tanks, not much room, and a pile of ammo stored all around the tank.
Before it was very common for ammo explosions, so all T44's were quickly fitted with wet ammo racks. My T44 still has a wet ammo rack on it.
Recently T44's were buffed a bit "in the ammo rack", to make them less susceptible to ammo rack explosions, but they might still be a problem there, its hard for me to tell with my wet ammo rack installed now. But if you are having too many ammo rack explosions, put a wet ammo rack on too like many others have done.
