I asked a question about critical hits that do 0 damage to the target's health. Apologies for the format, then, but I've copied this from somewhere else.
Q: Are there any plans to review the way critical hits are working? Here's why I ask:
"Critical Hit!" cry from your crew, only to find your enemy is still firing, still moving, and still on 100%.
I suspect I'm not the only one who finds this rather absurd when the shot in question just went straight through the side of the turret on that 3-tiers-higher heavy you made such an effort to flank.
OK, so how about this:
1. Any penetrating hit will ALWAYS do 50% of whatever damage it is meant to do (as determined through the average damage +/-25% mechanic) to the target's remaining health.
2. System will then check to see if a module is hit.
2.1 If yes, remaining 50% of damage is applied to that.
2.2 If that destroys the module, repeat the check to see if it strikes ANOTHER module.
2.3 If so, apply damage there and repeat check.
3. If not, apply remaining damage to health.
This way it is still possible for a module(s) to absorb 50% of the projectile damage, but that projectile will also always do SOME health damage.
It is beyond stupid that you can hit a med with a BL-10 round (average pen 286, av damage 750) and hear 'critical hit' that seemingly does nothing. Not tracked, not stopped, gun still firing...nothing. I don't give a #$#&*T!! about modules. I want the target DEAD.
For the record, the examples I'm thinking of with BL-10 are hits that penetrate THE TURRET of the target.

Overlord: Critical hit means critical damage to crew or modules has been inflicted (crew member or module has been taken out). The actual amount of HP may stay the same. And the effect of critical damage may not be visible for the player who inflicted it.
