good money on it. initially the game took off like a
rocket headedfor an uncharted star. improvements were made, some new tanks, balancing, maps etc..... Then I don't quite know, but it seems like the
investors, money men, or bankers got their greasy hands involved and the " greed development " started to show its ugly face.
8.0 brought with it a lot of substantial gameplay changes and we've made some adjustments since then but I can appreciate that you want to see continued large scale changes. Those are being worked on and will see implementation this year.
Now the economy of the game is just insulting. It has been reworked so many times and tightened so much I now have to drive my money
tanks 2 out of every 3 matches just to feel like I am moving forward. In the early days when my Lowe made 50k to 100k with no sweat at
all, now makes 20k to 40k for the same match. So I have mistakenly sold some older tanks in the past to pay for the new ones long ago.
And now I need about 65 million to buy all the tanks back that I want. " SLAVERY "
I think the economy is challenging and sometimes working down a particular line can be tedious and I am interested in having this conversation with the community to see how they feel about the economy these days. Your use of the word slavery is strange to say the least. Comparing your choice to play a free game to human bondage may be quite off-putting to most folks.
Having to drive low tier or money tanks all the time just takes all the fun out of the game. And trying to earn money winning games is just
a heart atack waiting to happen with the stress of having your "teammates" help decide your victory or loss = money or no money.
The game does have an ecosystem of sorts which encourages folks to battle in their mid tier tanks to fund their end tier performers. That is a purposeful design. It recirculates the population back down into the lower tiers.
My point is, having to drive certain tanks for money is just no fun at all, and thats just about what this game has been reduced to. What is
wrong with being able to drive the fun tank you like AND making money? ( enough to make a big impact considering win/loss profits )
There are game design principles which would break down if we adopted the system you are outlining.
Also, new tanks and gold tanks keep coming out. The gameplay is getting very tired and old. Who has made the decision to put garage battles, 30 vs 30, historic battles, or other good ideas on the back burner? THEY SHOULD BE FIRED!
Division of labor. It means that you have different teams with different skill sets who work on different projects. The tank model teams aren't the same as the social UI teams who aren't the same as the game mode design teams. It is rarely a question of this or that. But rather a question of working on this and while delivering that.
Mugsy_: I am also very eager to see a lot of the features coming down the
pipeline implemented. I think it will be a very positive year for
World of Tanks. I appreciate you expressing your frustrations and
experience. Your input is appreciated and important.
