Regarding the clan wars debacle.

"want to have your CL on the CoFA?  Get at least 20 people into your clan!"

Again, that number "20" is just a toss-out.  Get all the CoFA members together and let THEM decide.

You could pick 10 or 50 there will be people with good ideas left out either way. The other thing would make it 1 per clan, but could be the CL or a DC or even Diplomat as it is working with other clans.

Currently you either need to hold land or have 30+ members.

Mugsy_:
In addition to reading the suggestion section, I also welcome anyone to write me detailed breakdowns of their ideas and suggestions. The CoAF is just a start. It is just one group and one way of discussing things with a sample population. When I started here in July, there were 30 members. Now there are over 200. It is a very diverse group of people who represent their own interests and causes.

The whole thing turned into a forum witch hunt and COAF members added to the uninformed chaos. Even as WG reps denied such.... I saw poorly worded and slanderous attacks against clans who sole crime was to be prepared for the unexpected and drop chips when the mechanics allowed.   A quick glean through those ridiculous threads will find several severely brain-dead posts by those COAF clan reps.  I'm not going to scan it all at this time to quote them but, I can assure you they are/were there.   What the community didn't need was COAF members who represented entire clans making irrelevant,  baseless, and ill advised posts.....  Even revealing in their crazy blubbering how much they were utterly clueless as to the mechanics of chip movements at times.  Representing the COAF with this kind of vitriol and lack of intelligence IMO severely hurt it's legitimacy.

During the fallout from the failures of the initial launch of Rise of the Americas, allowances were made for some of the reckless, emotional raging being expressed by the entire community. The resulting ugliness has to be forgiven. People were beyond their tolerances of frustration and anger. Our mistakes created a hostile environment where otherwise good people were turned into ravenous haters. I know who you are referring to and I do sincerely apologize for their actions and venom. That being said, it does seems within the Council there is developing a core of intelligent, level-headed, positive personalities who offer the best suggestions and the most constructive feedback. People, who in addition to caring about their own clan's status and progress, want to see the community and game improve and become more enjoyable.

I see a lot of Forge guys interested in this ongoing thread, so I will say that I have a lot of respect for both Barroom and Nagatron and consider them very credible sources. Barroom is grouchy, but he understands Clan Wars better than most people in our company and Nagatron is a gifted communicator who can both understand the pros and cons of any issue and articulate the subtleties of complex correlations so that someone who is totally uninformed can leave understanding it fairly well. But I also understand that they, essentially, have a class view and class interests within the tiny society that is our community. Yet, their input is an important ingredient to our clan gumbo.

What I am taking away from this thread is that you guys feel like Wargaming has too narrow a reach into the community at large. If you feel like the only input, for Clan Wars or any other subject, is only seen if drawn from the CoAF then we have a greater problem. So my suggestion is twofold, let's start utilizing the Ultimate Conquest section of the forum more and if you are in a clan, make sure it has a CoAF rep, and utilize them. Make them be your spokesperson, they are representatives of your clan. If you want an idea shared, poll created, attention brought to an issue, assign your rep with the duty of making it happen. To help get us back to a space where folks are feeling heard, because I think there was a window of time were we were doing pretty well on that goal.

Thanks for expressing your points and frustrations. I actually do appreciate complaints and groans because it helps me map out my goals. More than anything, I want the quality of life in our community to be very high for everyone. I want everyone to feel heard and supported. I am gonna close this thread up, because I fully understand where you are each coming from and feel this thread has accomplished its intent, but I encourage everyone to continue discussing, constructively, what we can do to mend fences, build a better community, and solve problems and points of frustration - I look forward to reading them.

(if you write "Mugsy" somewhere in it I can locate them more easily)

Thanks!
