What's with this?!?!

Then after a few seconds they reappear right in my face blasting away! This has happened before, tanks I’m firing on at close range just disappearing. Also can someone explain how invisible tanks can fire on me? I though firing your gun gives away your position. Is this really part of the game or is this something that’s going to be addressed after the next download? Extremely frustrating.
