German and US torpedo designers also had their statistics and their tests and they all showed the torps are working and believed that sub crews are incompetent whiners. Cold, emotionless numbers don't lie, eh? And if the crews complain that the torps are not exploding, mean just they're missing the target.
And these aren't by far the only cases of numbers "lying". I hope the devs realise it.
MrVic: You have to carefully examine the data thats is true. But also in a
digitally controlled environmental you less room for error. The
example you listed the ended up finding the conditions of transport
(varying temps, massively varying pressure changes) were the cause.
Real world enviorments that are near imposible to calculate
espically at that time. The results from testing were from
controlled environments and accurate for their testing in those
controlled enviroments. WoT and other games, the enviroment can be
assessed since its rules are set by the creator. Basically your
working on a "test tank" much like the torpedo designers were
working in that founded their results. If we were to take the tanks
from the server and rebuild them in the real world the margin for
error would greatly increase. In the end the data is much more
accurate, but still has to be reviewed carefully.
