Major Rampage - Signing Off

Дата: 13.09.2014 02:53:23
Major_Rampage: Howdy Tankers!   It’s Major Rampage!    You may remember me as the guy who designs all of the in- game events for World of Tanks (as well as WoT 360, and WoWP), and was in the event and gift shop threads answering questions (or maybe disputing the math you were using...).  Whatever side of the math you were on you pushed me consider all side of an event and premium shop and for that I thank each of you.   You may remember me as the guy who was running Rampage’s Ruckus: Tank Companies.  500 Gold for a Win / 250 for a loss.  I learned a few things very quickly doing that.  The first being I had no idea what so ever how to call a battle.  I want to thank everyone who ran battles with me or against me.  You opened my eyes to an entirely new level of completive and team play I would never have seen.  We racked up 862 Battles, with a 68.56% win rate.  I would like thank my team for helping me pad my stats there. This is also the reason I have 72% win rate in my Matilda.   You may remember me as the guy who was running the All Star and MVP Contests, and even Scavenger Hunts before we had automated server side events.  I can tell you I looked at more spreadsheets and did more calculations during those events then I did in my years of doing sales before I came to Wargaming.  It’s was an adventure going through everyone’s submitted screen shots (of all three post battle windows), and then doing the math but I loved to be able to drive you folks to be very best.  Also thank you for patiently waiting on The Black Tom prizes.    You may remember me as the guy who tried his hand at running a variety of creative contest on the forums.  From Bumper Stickers to Parody Songs contests.  Between your creative contests and the MVP/All Star Contests, I had the third largest amount of email when we moved offices about two years ago.  We also tried some contests that seemed like a good idea and just didn’t work in the end… Such as the Caption Contest this was a great idea on paper, except we in some cases had 100 pages of entries (100 pages x 20 comments per page = 2,000 entries).  And I read through every single one of them, which was a full day’s work (very entertaining work), but in the end there was just too many of you for me to be able to keep up with ever week.  I thank you for your enthusiasm, skills and participation. It always blew me away.  I know more inside jokes about World of Tanks, that get me blank stares from using in public conversation, than I will ever be able to use.   Some of you may even remember me from my days when I started moderating the forums and general.  I was part of the first round of Game Masters, under the tutelage of Tanitha. I learned many things very quick when it came to moderating.  I learned that if you got on the wrong side of Forge back in the day BarrooM  would put out a call to neg rep all of your posts.  I also learned that Jewel_Thief makes awesome cookies, which we used to “celebrate when I hit -1000 rep.  I have seen every portion of the forums from Mods, to Off Topic, to CR/D to the many incarnations of the Red Sky Embassy Threads.  Being on the forums never has been and never will be a dull experience, and for that I thank you.   But what is the walk down memory lane, and why are you putting this up you might ask?  Well since I started running the events here we have come a long way from January 2013 when I first got in the saddle. But as the position and responsibilities evolved, where that position sits in the company shifted.  I have retained the responsibilities of the server side events, but I have moved from the Community Department to the Production Department.  What this does mean is that I will be stepping away from the forums, for the most part.   However don’t despair I am leaving you in good hands.  You have KMaus and pizzastorm  looking out for you.  They along with the rest of the community department will be looking out for you, and passing along your feedback.   If you are looking for a place to keep an eye on what I am doing you can find me both on Facebook and Twitter. Warning I do talk a lot about wrestling.   May your shell fly true and the matchmaker be kind.   This is Major Rampage signing off.
