I have a puzzle

Lert: I have a puzzle regarding gameplay mechanics that I can't seem to figure out. Maybe someone else here can clarify to me what happened.   I had this match. At one point I fire a 152mm HE shell at an Rhm Borsig at close range. My crew voice announces 'We didn't even scratch them' (so it did hit) and no hitpoint damage is done. This is possible, if I hit the gun directly and there is no splash to the vehicle itself. However, the after-battle report shows no hits done to the Rhm Borsig. (I shot at him twice, the second shot plain misses).     What I'm tempted to think happened is that I did hit his gun, but his module saving throw ate all the damage, and the module didn't get damaged. Shouldn't that still show a hit credited though?   I've also submitted a ticket regarding this.
