Do binoculars increase your view range beyond 500m YES or NO?

Lert:   Which is a good thing binocs do extend beyond 500 meters - at least, according to the in-game numbers.   It would be easy to test. Go into a training room with a Patton with binocs and something with 400 meter base view range with binocs, take turns at trying to spot an approaching light tank at long range. If the Patton spots it earlier than the other tank, 500m+ viewrange is real.
