Looking for star wars nerd

Lert: He went and made Ep 4 (a new hope) first, because that was the story that would stand on its own the best. You have to remember, at that point in time the 'blockbuster' disn't exist, sci fi was for nerds and franchises were nowhere near as popular and common as they are now - basically only James Bond existed as a franchise.   After ep 4 was made and became a runaway success (giving birth to the idea of the 'blockbuster' in the process) he had the funds and good-will with the studios to make several more Star Wars movies. It made a lot more sense to continue with the story after Ep4 than it did to make prequels right off the bat.
