The whole matchmaker thing...

Lert:   1) Because at +/- 0 spread there would be incredibly long queue times and very boring matches playing against the same tanks over and over again. 2) Because seeing the same tanks over and over again means you're not learning the strengths and weaknesses of the next tier of tanks. 3) +/- 2 tiers (+3/-1 for LT's) introduces variety where you are top tier some of the time and bottom tier some of the time. It helps keep the game fresh. 4) I don't see you complaining about being top tier tank and shooting at little guys, now do I. Or do you actually hold your fire for smaller tanks because "it's so unfair"? 5) A good tanker knows how to adapt his play style to the match before him. 6) Light tanks "get the shaft" because they're bloody scout tanks, not brawling tanks. So scout with them. Don't brawl with them. They "get the shaft" because they are more than capable of dealing with it.   It's not the tank that's underpowered; it's the player.   You're new here. Go read some guides, go watch some tutorials and how-to's by good players. I would particularly recommend this old guide of mine, written when scouts saw +5/+1 instead of the laidback, relaxing +3/-1 they see now. Do at least watch the videos linked at the end of the guide.   Then after that guide, read this one.   Then after that, read this one.   Then, after that, if you still think it's 'unfair' and they're just 'screwing you over', maybe WoT isn't the game for you.   Not trying to be unfriendly, just explaining and trying to give you a dose of realism I wish I'd been given when I was as new as you. But I had to figure everything out for myself and write the guides for you that nobody wrote for me.
