new players? Not with the way WG runs this

chance with WG MM. There's games out there that doesnt penalize new
players. For instance. I'm in my
tier 3 tank and there's only 3 real players on each team. My team's
players all have under 1,000 battles. Two of theirs have over 35K.
the other one is just under 5k. What the hell is that? I'm told
they cant MM based own their own internal rating system, but can't
they at least even out the number of battles per player a little
better? Bots. Playing at low tiers, you
see a lot of bots. But there's two kinds of bots. Smart ones and
DAF ones. The smart ones never miss and they swarm you when you're
spotted. The dumb ones? they drive around in circles obvlivious to
anything and everything around them. That's IF they move at all.
The ratio seems to be hit and miss but why put all smart bots on
one team at all. Equip 2.0. With only two
slots for consumables, you have to make a choice on what to omit.
Do you want to not be able to repair, to put out a fire or to treat
an injured crewman? You can't do all three and sure as the sun
comes up, whatever you don't pick is going to happen. You're
probably going to face those 35K+ battle guys so now you can't even
load up a directive to help out. Events.
Most are useless to new players. Try doing Battle Pass with only
one Tier 6. And that one has a less than 100% crew and no 6th
sense. I started playing this game back
in Feb of 2017, I can't play it that long without getting disgusted
with the whole thing. I come back after major patches just to see
if they've made it easier to play for new players and every time it
just gets worse. Not sure how long I'll try it this time. There's
just too much more I can do with my gaming time and real life to
waste it on a game that has such a miserable new player experience

Their focus is profits and as long as those are doing fine then they're happy. The hell with balanced game play, satisfied customers or anything else. Plus there is one HUGE thing folks here on NA need to remember. There are other servers and NA has always had lower numbers than EU and RU/CIS. And we've always been the red headed stepchild so to speak. Do we spend more per player? We used to, not sure about now. But if we still do then that says as much about "us" as them to be honest. If we don't oh well. We're just a drop in the bucket to them either way. As long as the bucket is filled they don't care where it comes from to be honest.
One would think and hope they'd realize fixing and balancing things would be better in the long run. But they're so focused on the profit margin the short term quarterly and annual spread sheets are all that really matter. There's plenty of new players. Hell WG is forsaking long term players that have closed their wallets out of frustration for new players. Do new players stick around long term now like they once did? Overall I'm guessing no, but they don't care as their focus is the rinse and repeat influx of new players. And the "grind" is easier now than ever. Hell hit tier six and get a bunch of tanks researched for free minus the modules. Collectible vehicles, pared down tech trees, boosters, availability of free x5s and blueprints are a blatant move in that direction. They don't care about fixing stuff or balanced game play. Get the new blood, prepared or not, up through and to the top tiers and their money along the journey. Will as many stick around as long as folks did in the old days? Probably not, but as long as the influx of new players remains consistent they don't care. Hell look at this LIS event. So so tank. But look at the "post bonus" missions that require the tank. The almost extinct credit boosters, crew books and blueprints. It's marketed to sell the tank for the folks that want those goodies. Hell look at the timelines, not to mention the fact that only one of the post missions can be completed per day. So if someone wants to capitalize on the extra the sooner they get the tank the better. They're so blatant now because they really don't care about long term retention, because many of us long term players have closed their wallets to varying degrees. It's like a fire sale with new players. Get them in and up the tiers early and grab what you can from them. If they stick around longer than expected great. If not there's new players coming round the bend.
KRZYBooP: WG has asked that question and found the curve for learning
the game to go backwards before the player learns enough to start
doing well. This is why the tutorial was introduced, and in my
opinion why they made it easier to go up to Tier 6. Recently it was
found by data that the most damage was being dealt in lower tier
battles as opposed to tier 10 battles. This was why the HP for many
lower tier tanks went up. At tier 6 though players can at least
react to damage and maybe not get immediately sent to the
garage. Bots are a thing on the SA server, and proving a
player is running bots or there is a bot account with 100%
undeniable proof isn't an easy task from the player's viewpoint.
There are bans that go out for players running illegal bot scripts,
I know cause I have seen the bans from support.
The equipment 2.0 the same is true for the 35k players, and who knows you might get one on your team as well.

KRZYBooP: From my personal experiences while working for WG I have yet
to see a decision made without any supporting data. The OP Russian
bias isn't seen very much when you look at Tanks.gg and click
through WN8, Damage, and Battles, it looks pretty diverse to
me.
WG is balancing tanks, right now and by many players standards, they disagree with those changes, which is the same for almost any change that WG has made. New equipment has been on the list to change for a while since they noted that there were only 4 combinations of equipment players were playing and that made the game stale. It could have been implemented better in my opinion but at least moving equipment from slot to slot was an easy option. WG wants new players, and is working on the balancing of over 500 tanks at the same time. They want new players to be able to easily catch up to their friends and enjoy the end game stuff like clan wars, tournaments, strongholds, and advances. Many older MMO's due this, I was a little urked when my other favorite MMO did this but realized quickly that if I want players to play with getting them in-game and caught up to me needs to be easier as time goes on. Also the x5, blueprints and weekend events apply to older players as well. The x5 bundles are available for anyone to purchase. This LIS event is not meant for everyone, and it's built-in a way that you can play your normal rate and get a discount on a tank, or go bananas and get the tank for free. Is there another enticing reason to purchase the tank? Yes, WG still wants to make money. The game is Free to play, ( download and enjoy for free without any upfront commitments) doesn't' include massive intrusive ads from google, and doesn't have anything amazing that guarantees you win and is only able to be purchased with money. The game is monetized with the intention to entice players to purchase things and support the game buy either buying a little premium time, or committing to a FEAST offer. Can you play this game for free, Yes, is WG going to make that easy? No. I do appreciate all the feedback that this thread has offered and will be sure to forward it along.
