Having trouble with equipment and slot categories not matching.

A rammer is firepower equip and belongs in slot 1 on a TD--unless i'm totally clueless and read/heard it wrong, which is always a possibility.   On slot 2, where I have my binocs, there is a little arrow at the top pointing up, which I assume means "demount it doofus".   I experimented switching them around but the little icons (arrow and x) don't go away, and when I hover over the icon for each piece of equip, the note says "equipment and slot categories do not match".   Interestingly, on my T5 Wolverine there is no "x" under the slot 1 rammer, but it still says "equip does not match" in the cursor hover pop-up.   And this is pretty much the same on all my TDs.   ????
