Reputation System: Stay or Go?

View PostIron_Soul_Stealer, on Dec 19 2014 - 16:32, said:   ^...Dude, I agree. And I know this may sound strange, but somehow, I think that's exactly what they want to happen...seriously... *Create even more conflict here, because it's better for business that way... *it keeps people in the game/forum, and keeps them fighting with each other {clan rivalry etc.}...makes perfect sense from an extremely unethical business standpoint.   *Oh, and before I forget...have a look at this... I actually sent in a support ticket to Wargaming regarding my serious concerns about this whole ridiculous rep/voting thing, and how unhealthy their system was. Their official response was this:   "The reputation system is just a 'for-fun' system, and the majority of our forum members don't take it seriously, anyway. We recommend that you just ignore the votes if they bother you..." end quote ^ nice response...huh..?     ^...I see this guy has his priorities straight... *if Wargaming.net moves ahead with this absolutely ridiculous new forum system {as I'm sure they will}...you will all be seeing a whole lot more of my real clan, as they are some of my biggest supporters, here, and IRL. http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/403832-veritas-scientia-sapientia/page__pid__8178177#entry8178177   So, wulfie, it's probably better that you hear this now, and directly from me, because you'll be finding out soon enough....and as WG suggests, don't take this seriously, but my clan finds many of your posts very insulting, disrespectful, and inappropriate....among other things. But hey, like Wargaming said, it's just a 'for-fun' system anyway...besides, there's more important things in life, just ignore the rep if it bothers you that much.   -Iron_Soul_Stealer

KMaus:   1.) on a personal note, as a player, i agree with you. I don't even want the rep system. I voted against it. As a player, i think players bully each other with it, and if it were up to me, i'd just take the proverbial nerf guns away, so that there's less ways to punk each other in the forums. i hate that new players dont feel comfortable coming to the forums because they get yelled at for asking questions in the NEW PLAYER SECTION by other players who are established. The purpose of a community is shared interest and experience - fellowship. It should feel safe here for everyone. #imo 2.) I am however, also representing WG - and one thing I want us to do as WG, that we're trying to learn to do better - is to ask, poll, and represent what you want. Sometimes this goes against my preferences as a player, but that's the job. In this scenario, Krista the player, thinks that showing the rep system is an awful idea. But enough players asked for it, that KMaus (of WG) wanted to look into it. Part of my job is representing Wargaming, but part of it is representing you and your wants as players - regardless of whether they align with my personal agendas (ie: hating the rep system). There are millions of us, playing this game, and having very different opinions on pretty much everything. I'm trying to understand as many of the pieces as possible.
3.) This functionality is currently restricted and for now, only staff / mods has access to this. I'm not sure if it will change in the future, but we want to know if you guys have a strong preference either way so that we keep that in mind.

I understand you seem to feel strongly about it, and i share many of your sentiments on a personal level. solidarity.
