Concern is if Crew 2.0 is implemented and what will the final
version look like if implemented. WG has a huge sunk cost
into the Crew 2.0 project and it's hard for most companies to walk
away from that. WG clearly saw one benefit of Crew 2.0 was a new
credit/gold sink for players and they will most likely have to find
a way to replace that before they can completely walk away from
Crew 2.0. This is driving my concern as how expensive
the conversion will be for players and how much it will accelerate
the 'arms race' to remain competitive, especially for casual and
new players. WG, most likely, would reduce it's programming load if
they replaced the old individual crew system with a generic crew
system, but I think this is a distant third reason. From a
business/systems perspective, I still expect to see some version of
2.0. From a business perspective, it would be wise to implement it
after one of your major income generating events before any
negative fallout from rolling out a potentially unpopular or
disruptive change.
Jaguarz: Note, they had to walk away from it when they tried to foist
the idiotic plan on WoWS which is where it originally comes from in
its guise as the "Paragon" system The allure of crew 2.0 is
from the current development team looking for a fast cash grab
because they are jealous the original devs made bank and are
chilling on their yachts with a stream of model girlfriends, this
is what they came up with to line their pockets but the
beancounters wont hurt long term returns for a fast buck because
they dont get paid that way and likewise the owners dont need a
short term cash influx at the cost of reliable income stream.
