Only 5 of them were built before the Russians moved on to the regular T-62 (Object 166) with the 115mm smoothbore.   And yes, it would matter in terms of the game, smoothbore guns, especially those of the generation talked about here, had far more penetration and shell velocity than rifled tank guns of the era.

Jaguarz:  It really wouldn't matter in the slightest in terms of the game because the guns on the tanks dont behave as they do in real life either on firing or on hit. Theres almost nothing in this game which corresponds to reality which is completely fine, Im not looking for a simulator but "no smoothbore" reasonings are a fallacy and an anachronism, wargaming dont measure velocities or penetration values, they quite literally make them up according to needs and balance, 99.99% of people who play this game would have no clue if a gun was smoothbore or not or even what the variances would be and why. The days of them measuring tanks to get the armour values correct (which they did do once they started to get popular as within the company there was a very vocal "accuracy group" ) are long gone because theres no appetite for that level of "realism" at the expense of balance and the disaster of a mess which was "historical battles" illustrated it well.
