[ST] T-34E

Дата: 27.04.2018 18:38:15
Gnomon: Hey, everyone!  Hope you're having a great Friday!  I just wanted to make you aware of a new tank hitting the Supertest. Today, we will start testing a new Soviet vehicle. This tank is a version of a tech-tree tank already present in the game. It is the historically accurate and riveting, T-34E. You can find some screenshots of it a bit further down in this post!  Gameplay-wise, this tank is fairly similar to its tech-tree counterpart. Apart from protective armor on the sides of its turret and hull (and a 76mm gun with APCR shells as basic ammo) the T-34E isn’t all that different from the original T-34. It was initially designed to improve protection for those sheltered within, the armored versions of the T-34 were “handmade” by engineers and tankers themselves. Additional armor plates, jerry-rigged over regular armor, were a common frontline solution to weak points. There were also attempts to manufacture reinforced concrete armor. This factory-made armor never entered mass production, but it did undergo battle testing. The first development stage of the T-34 armor dates back to 1941. In late 1941 (and early 1942) it entered mass production to be installed on hundreds of T-34’s. Later, the armor was ditched in favor of greater mobility and maintainability. The spring of 1943 saw the ‘second coming’ of armored T-34’s. A batch of 46 tanks was sent to the frontlines of battles, carrying several different types of armor. All of these were developed at Plant 112 in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod), to counter German 75mm HEAT shells. The T-34E that is entering the Supertest is based on the Plant 112 version. Its specs may be changed as we continue to test it and gather valuable data and community feedback; we’ll let you know if we tinker with the tank. As always, please leave your feedback below!  Best of luck on the battlefield!  T-34E Screenshots
