[ST] New Soviet Tier X Tanks: K-91 & Object 277
Дата: 13.04.2018 18:30:20
Gnomon: Hey, everyone! We know that many tankers have wanted to sneak
a peek at the two new Tier X tanks in the Soviet tree that we are
have been keeping under tarpaulin covers. Everyone was wondering
what tanks they were and when they were going to appear in-game.
There is no need to guess or data mine, as we would like to
announce that these vehicles are the K-91 and the Object 277. Both
will be entering the Supertest today and will become available to
you soon. However, they will not be in the next update as we will
need to fine-tune both tanks. The К-91
The K-91 will top the rear turret
MT branch. This tank is fast and has great targeting parameters
(including the aiming time of 1.9 seconds). This precision allows
it to snipe; the record-setting shell speed (1,700 m/sec) and armor
penetration (276mm by an APCR round) will further boost the
long-range efficiency of the K-91. Some interesting things to note
about this tank are its weak armor, limited gun depression ( –5° )
due to turret positioning, and limited turret traverse (the latter
is for balance purposes and may be dropped based on test
results). The characteristics of the K-91 are impressive, but
how does it play? Well, mainly as an ambusher who provides support
from afar, as they K-91 is no brawler. Its spotting range (410m)
lets the K-91 spot the enemy first, and it has decent camo (only
slightly lower than that of the Object 430U). Its mobility is on
par with other Soviet Tier X Mediums, but its thin armor makes
surviving under enemy fire problematic. An additional obstacle to
brawling at short range is the 180° firing arc of the gun.
Mid-range warfare on the K-91 (trying to use its mobility and gun
stabilization) is for the most skilled and adrenaline-loving
tankers. During the first stage of the Supertest, only the turret
will offer meaningful protection on the K-91. Keep in mind that
while playing the K-91, you ought to rely mainly on its camo and
snipe. We recommend going to the second-line if your Ace feelings
are tingling. Tank Images
The Object 277
This Tier X is an assault tank,
combining mobility with protection. A true successor to everyone’s
favorite (the T-10), the Object 277 builds on its strong sides,
having better aiming, DPM, and armor penetration parameters. Having
a greater alpha and larger HP pool, this tank can do everything the
T-10 can, but better (if you don’t believe, be sure to check out
the infographic at the end). The protection that this tank
offers will be decent: 140mm/112mm/50mm of hull armor, and
290mm/224mm/80mm of turret armor. Keep in mind that the glacis
plate is sloped at 60–70°, and the lower front plate (which is
138-170mm thick) at 45–55°. Much like the T-10, the Object 277
is a Heavy/Medium hybrid that is well suited for countering the
enemy team’s front line while also taking key positions.
Hard-hitting and agile, this tank allows for both an
aggressive-attack playstyle and a maneuverable-defensive playstyle,
as well as for switching flanks (if needed). Keep in mind that the
Object 277 will keep its progenitor’s weakness as well, a gun
depression of –5.5° which doesn’t allow for productive
terrain-based play. Tank Images
The OutlineThe fire support
ambusher and the assault Heavy will make great additions to the
current Soviet tree. However, their tactical roles and technical
parameters may yet change after our testing. Also, we wanted to
inform you that we are considering a rebalance of the Soviet rear
turret MT branch, in order to make other vehicles more like the
new. These actions, that we will take further down the road, will
depend on the Supertest results. We will be sure to share all
of the relevant information with you. Let us know what you
think, and best of luck in your battles!
