before WG started running contests? Or at the very least, as soon
as the first 3 instances of cheating were brought to the attention
of the WG staff?I'm sure the player base is grateful for you guys
running different marathons / competitions (myself being a winner a
year ago of the light tank scout one, when I actually had to submit
screen shots). But running competitions without a solid system to
catch cheating (before the player base does) doesn't instill a lot
of confidence. And certainly, it gives WG a black eye every time a
cheater is caught by players publicly, when a fairly simple check
would've prevented a cheater(s) winning any given competition.GeneralDirection: Game development is at times a disgustingly slow beast. This is one
of those times.
We want to streamline things, make it more automated, etc., but there is a production schedule that must be followed.
At the moment there are higher priority tasks for the folks responsible for something like this. In the meantime we have eyeballs reviewing this stuff multiple times, double and triple checking.
Major_Rampage is a huge advocate for players internally, and spends a lot of time making sure legitimate contest winners get their reward.
