GeneralDirection: I'll explain the issue here, but also want to caution that you guys
should take a chill pill when it comes to insulting the community
team. The forum rules still apply, even if you're frustrated with
the situation.
Agrona was our World of Warplanes community manager until the end of August, when she moved over to events for World of Tanks. Gaea then moved over to community manager for all of our products. Unfortunately that meant that Agrona had to play a lot of catch up and adapt to her new workflow, and that along with a few misunderstandings in how this contest was supposed to play out caused this delay.
In addition, frankly, it was an overwhelming number of submissions. The only contest we've run that has had more submissions was the Black Tom MVP event--something far easier to process than this, considering this requires time to review an entire tournament concept, whereas the MVP event requires comparing data to a submission to confirm accuracy.
I've made the decision to adjust the rewards for this contest, and also increase the reward slots to the top 10 entries. I'll also talk with LF about using more than just the winner for Skirmishes. So the gold prizes will be:1st - 36000
2nd - 33000
3rd - 30000
4th - 27000
5th - 24000
6th - 21000
7th - 18000
8th - 15000
9th - 12000
10th - 9000 At the end of the day, the situation sucked for us, but it's our responsibility to deliver for you guys. So hopefully you understand better why it happened, but also that it's not acceptable for it to happen and we're going to acknowledge that.
