Official Q&A Thread: 7.5 Era

Дата: 08.08.2012 23:42:37
View PostThe_Choosen1, on Aug 07 2012 - 18:12, said: Q1: Are you planning on adding resources to the Clan wars map? Like oil to some provinces of africa that provide the fuel consumable or steel for shells
Q2:The tiger ace paint camo, the only one that I like more than the grey normal camo, are you going to put it?
Q3:In what patch can we expect the Leopard?
Q4:Storm confirmed that tier 10 artys will be in the game, he said that they are going to add 2 tier lower artys and uptier the higher ones, my question is, I needed 146k xp in my S-51 to unlock the obj-212, the normal  avagere xp that I need to unlock a tier 7 is around 45k  xp, my question is will I get that amount of xp back?
Q5:In What patch do you plan on adding armored skirts to be equipment ?
Q6: since 7.4 I have noticed a large amount of misses, shells go to the right or to the ground or just go flying upper and thats very annoying,  that shouldn't miss, its not lag or RNG, sometimes its a ghost shells goes directly thru him and hits a teammate behind him

GeneralDirection: Q1: Not at this time.
Q2: We're reviewing the camo system right now. 8.0 has adaptive camouflage. Outside of that, I can't say for sure what the plans are with adding new camo.
Q3: Too early to say.
Q4: Not sure I understand this question.
Q5: No ETA.
Q6: Ghost shells are generally caused by latency. You're not always firing where you think you're firing.

GeneralDirection: The 72km/h speed limit is in place for network code reasons.

View Post_Goliard, on Aug 07 2012 - 18:33, said: Will you introduce new measures against lag when you introduce physics? I'd hate to fall off a cliff just because I had one of those 1-2 second server hiccups.

GeneralDirection: Good point. It's something we'll have to consider.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: Several questions. Some old, some new.
1) Has there been any new information regarding the random number generator algorithm that World of Tanks uses? Any indications of bias or fairness?

GeneralDirection: No new information, but probably Russian bias.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: 2) In regards to the auto-aiming mechanism, will there ever be opportunity to disable it? No, not the right-click "lock on" feature, but the one where the game aims your gun for you.

GeneralDirection: There aren't any changes to the aiming system planned at the moment.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: 3) There was an announcement that there would, in time, be 3 KM by 3 KM maps. When such maps are finally developed and released, will the view ranges of tanks be increased, or their accuracy and thus effective range increased, or at least the maximum draw distance increased to suit the maps? Will artillery ranges remain the same or will they be increased as well? Will penetration loss over range be touched at all?

GeneralDirection: Draw distance improvements are part of the new rendering engine, as is the possibility of 3KM by 3KM maps. The rest of the stuff, we'll see. View range changes would only be made through a lot of testing on the new maps to see if it makes gameplay sense.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: 4) An old favorite, German penetration data. Is anyone yet willing to admit that copy-paste "conversions" from Wikipedia may be grossly inaccurate and mis-representative of the actual capabilities of these weapons?

GeneralDirection: I don't think the Chieftain or the other military specialists we consult with would appreciate being accused of copy-paste Wikipedia research. Penetration values are altered for gameplay design reasons, not because we felt like holding down the left mouse button while dragging the cursor across our web browser.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: 5) Barring Vallter's haughty declaration that it would violate the "laws of higher math", has there been any discussion for reducing the spread for penetration and damage?

GeneralDirection: There hasn't been any discussion on this for random battles.

View PostHirumaru, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:14, said: 6) What is this game exactly? Is it a strategy game? A tactical shooter? An arcade RPG? The "About" page lists this game as a "simulator", an "RPG", an "action" game, and a "strategy" game.

GeneralDirection: It's not a simulator in that you feel like you're sitting in a tank, that's for sure. An RPG? Sure... you play the role of a specific vehicle type. An action game? Absolutely, every battle has action in it. Strategy? Most definitely, just ask anyone that plays competitively--there's plenty of strategy involved in team play.
But to answer your question, it's a team-based multiplayer online battle game. It's hard to assign it to a genre because there's no one genre it fits into as a whole.

View Postmasterzjg, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:45, said: Will the Pan-European (whatever you wanna call it) tree come before or after the Japanese tree?

GeneralDirection: Both of those tech trees are so far off that neither of them are actually in development right now, aside from doing research. So it's pretty hard to say.

View Postmasterzjg, on Aug 07 2012 - 19:49, said: Also, what is the point of changing tier 8 arties to tier 10 arties, and adding two extra tiers? It just makes no sense to me. The way it currently is works fine. Why must WG waste time, effort, and research doing this? What's the point? Lastly, will I be getting back all the extra xp I've been earning to advance up the SPG line?

GeneralDirection: The main reason is it makes it easier to understand in matchmaking terms. A tier 10 SPG being matched against a tier 10 heavy, tier 10 medium, etc. makes more sense than a tier 8.

View PostIntervention, on Aug 07 2012 - 22:08, said: Will some of the tanks that were removed from the gift shop ever make a return during special sales and the like?

GeneralDirection: If you're asking about the pre-order tanks, no. Things like the Type 59? Sure.

View PostRanork, on Aug 07 2012 - 23:53, said: Has there been any progress on the order in which tanker alerts are given? (Priority MUST be "we are on fire, quick someone put that out" I don't care that my radio is broken when I am in a Tin Coffin that is on fire!
Valter previously stated this was a good idea but nothing has changed with 7.5.
Also is anyhting happening to fix it so that when a tank is partly obstructed that only the exposed portions are shown with the RED outline. I hate it when the whole tank shows up and you shoot (out of sniper mode) and nothing happens to find a bit later that 90% of the tank is hidden!

GeneralDirection: Yes, we're evaluating the tanker alerts. I can't say when or if changes will be made though.
The silhouette is not intended to show you where to aim, just that the vehicle is exposed somewhere. The silhouette isn't there to remove the decision making process of whether or not to fire. :)

View PostGonTo30, on Aug 08 2012 - 03:04, said: Any idea of what the changes will be when the Vk3601H becomes a heavy?

GeneralDirection: It'll be heavier? :Smile-hiding:
No details yet, since it's still a ways off.

View PostMydragonsfly, on Aug 08 2012 - 03:39, said: Curious. I heard in this video (2:25) with WoT's creator, that in 8.0 older computers will actually see an increase in FPS because of the new rendering system. How much of an FPS increase will us users see, example being if we stay at the lowest possible settings prerelease, and what increase will we get post release?

GeneralDirection: It'll be entirely dependent on your system, but low end machines should see a nice FPS increase on the lowest settings.
