Nov 2011 Oceanic - teams?
Дата: 15.11.2011 04:55:05

Also with only 64 spots and over 400+ teams registered why didnt someone think about upping the limit to 264 teams?
It would have only added two days of play and given a lot more people a chance to participate while also increasing the chance of seeing some really good teams play in the later stages of the tournament.
Thanks in advance and really hoping for more of these sorts of tournaments for us in "Oceania"!

PS if any teams want a practice battle to hone your tactics let us know. www.outbackgamers.net
GeneralDirection: Of the 400 teams, just over 120 were actually eligible. A majority
of the teams had 0-2 members. With regard to frequency, these are
planned on a monthly basis where scheduling permits.

Next time they might think a bit more about the oceania players - not overly happy that teams of Oceania players cna be left out when teams of entirely non oceania based players get the nod
GeneralDirection: We tried to set it up to give Oceanic players preference. I'll look
into other ways we can do so, without outright barring players from
other regions from participating. Some players who live in North
America may have jobs that cause them to be awake during these
hours, so it'd suck for them if we limited it based on IP address
or physical location.

I hope not.
GeneralDirection: We didn't use Oceania as testers. It was specifically requested
that the next tournament scheduled be for the region. Unfortunately
that coincided with a major revamp to the community portal, and a
few bugs (particularly involving registration) crept through.
That aside, the rules were set up with an expectation of 64 teams participating, due to past tournaments. But now that there is absolutely a higher demand, we can plan the schedule and format accordingly in the future.
