Thanks for the feedback on this. I'm putting everything together to forward on. As a quick note, this is not the only time we offer 5x experience events, and certainly won't be the last. The Facebook 200k challenge is another example of where we're offering to hold a 5x experience event.
In this particular case, the decision was made because we felt it would be a fun thing to do for players if we ended up winning this award.
With regard to 5x experience events in general, because of the impact it has on gameplay progression, we have to be very careful with how often they are held. The game is designed with a specific level of progression in mind, and so holding the events too often affects that gameplay design.
That said, we're always looking at the best times to hold 5x events, so that may be a useful topic to bring up in the suggestions forum as the next "Feedback Request" thread.
