What do people mean by "Pay to Win"?

View Post_PoliticallyIncorrect, on Aug 21 2021 - 17:22, said: Because I see many people with sub 50% Winrates call this game Pay To win, yet, for some reason they are "Paying" and Buying things in the game, but still are not winning.

Are people misusing this term to mean something else entirely? Or are there really people out there that think you will magically win more battles in this game if you buy something without actually improving your skill?

Draschel:  The whole idea, doesn't necessarily mean ''Pay to win, all the time''  It means, ''pay to win, more than you deserve to''  I will explainAn average performing player, as defined by world of tanks NA population standards, will scratch out 48.6% W/R, and perform @ 1,100 WN8.  This average performing player, will do this kind of performance in an IS3, or IS7 typically. Here is where the problem starts. If this exact player is playing Defender, or object 260, object 279E - their performances tend to be slightly higher than they otherwise are capable of. So instead, now they are averaging 50.5% W/R,  1,500 WN8. You see the big problem here? It is the same, comparing people who have super conqueror and then also got Chieftain, doing better than expected according to prior performance. And how they got these tanks, paying of course. Someone average, PAYING for LT432 may not break the record books in performance, but sure as heck is doing better than they did completing LTTB. Someone average PAYING for Somua, will do better than that said average guy struggling through AMX50100. This is paying, and winning. Even if they aren't what you expect, out with a 60+ W/R dominating the game. They paid, and as such are reaping benefit and winning more. The misuse of this language, of ''pay to win play'' gets spammed most with gold ammunition usage in my experience. Although, exclusively when a user starts spamming premium consumables, ammunition, directives --- they will undoubtedly win more - the problem is premium ammunition isn't exclusive. Premium ammunition is available to everyone. Premium ammunition can be acquired, without a heap of gold for it. Which means the complaint is a means to an end, and just someone talking s---  They got beat, bested, and are looking for scapegoat s--- to complain over. And this is a big issue of pride, rather than truthfully looking into what "pay to win" model means  Now before all the yelling and screaming, 260, 279E, Chieftain can't be bought with gold, "what do you mean paid for, paying to get them and win?''That is another story, but don't you worry, the underhanded, low levels of World of Tanks involves plenty of lucrative contracting, paying - for people to get these tanks you can't normally get with gold is there. Astoundingly and pronounced.
