Its survived the patch, heartily.Keep in mind the massive bore size allows for  A) overmatch for tonnes of thin armor plate   B) x2 normalization effect.  A T3485M effective armor is around 128mm vs AP from typical guns, like its own gun, cromwell 75mm, Type 64 75mm  -  but against KV2 howitzer is only rated to 106mm. People forget this, but it is a distinct advantage, that is an extra 21% effectiveness. Not much tanks tiers 5-6 have 75mm all sorts of places
