The gun is great. Not having a “proper” gold round to shoot heavies in the face with hurts it’s utility a little bit, but the gold HESH rounds can be amazing.
Draschel: I used the 20pdr gun, exactly how I used the L100 88mm
on E50 and 90mm on Type 61. I am pretty sure when I decide to play
leopard PTA, I'll use the 90mm probably too. Only the WZ120, did I
use the 122 instead of the 100mm. I just like the gun handling,
ROF, DPM on those middle guns, whereas for the WZ120 I played it
like a corridor heavy, so I needed the alpha/pen/HEAT. I know I
missed out on the HESH, and the HE is completely useless on 20pdr,
I miss out on alpha and over match, but in reality 268 APCR not
much different than 259. I did get better mobility, gun handling,
DPM, 1 shot missed doesn't cripple you, and actually
lol....the credit cost per damage ratio is better with
20pdr It is a shame AMX30 proto does not receive this
advantage, sad. The 100mm on Lorraine is on AMX 30 proto as
middle gun, but has quite trash stats compared to middle guns on
Leo, Skoda, WZ120, E50, Cent, and Type 61. In addition, Standard B
and M46 patton could use this, maybe not for playing the tank
entirely through, but at least for free to play players grinding
out the 105mm guns. M46 Patton (and pershing) can have the AP
buffed to 204 like super pershing, and then 3K DPM like Type 61.
Standard B could use STA1 ROF with the stock 90mm, which
provides 2,312 stock DPM, I wouldn't call that OP. I wouldn't play
Standard B that way of course, but free to play players? They'd
enjoy the increased potential for sure. Alot of tanks need this
option, it increases variability, why not?
