HE shells using contact fuses do generally detonate as soon as the front of the shell contacts something (the delay would be only milliseconds). Shoot a real HE shell at the front of a tank turret and the resulting explosion will damage the surrounding areas (such as the hull roof), not just the pinpoint spot the nose of the shell happened to hit. Shoot a real HE shell under a tank and the resulting explosion will damage the thinly armoured hull floor. The new HE will not function anything like real HE. If you can't see that you're probably a lost cause.

Draschel:  Yes. I can. Most vision blocks are 0mm armor, yet they pre-detonate HE attack resulting in splash effect. Apparently 0mm of glass is enoughSkoda T50 has a 3mm side skirt, that will stop cold 200+ pen HESH from FV183. Nice.I am not against HE causing damage to tanks. It will also do so, in the future after the changes. It won't do so in the way artillery can, and that is a means of balance.Balance, is a construct, ever changing, to suit a game. It isn't realism. If you think that realism, and Wot are inter-twined or ever have been, you aren't a lost cause. You were lost from the start. I suggest another game. Balance is more important than realism, in a context which involves playing world of tanks.
