Question: Leopard vs. E 50 line

Draschel: I did not say the panther was an armored tank. Far from it. I
just said, as a tier VII medium, the armor is more or less fine.
Decently angled, the armor can get to 150mm effective, which
reliably bounces lots of tier 6-7 meds and lights. In addition,
panther will avoid most 120-122mm over match attempts because most
of its armor is 50mm or higher, and is reliability thick enough
that HE shells from enemies like Excalibur, OI, KV2, SU152 will not
penetrate. While, this is not front line usage armor unless you are
in tier 5-7 battles as top of the tree, it does have its uses.
Certainly more than Leopard and Leo PTA I finished the indien
panzer using the stock engine all the way through in front lines,
because you can save experience as PTA unlocks the engine free. And
you are right, it was slow. But after the Mutz and Indien Panzer
buffs, indien panzer gained 40 horsepower, and when I take it out
in skirmishes, with the top engine it is noticeably quicker. And
certainly no longer a slug or snail. Is it progetto or LIS or STA2
fast? Hell no, but compares passably pretty much to most tier 8
mediums in tech tree. When you said you were unaware of tech tree
changes in the lines, are you also unaware of Indien Panzer
mobility buff, by chance? Have you played it since? E50M isn't
a great tank. I am not disputing that. I think it is one of the
weakest tier 10 mediums. It has low DPM, no camo, too large and
clunky. But it isn't a glass cannon. Centre of mass shot can hit
its gun mantlet or upper hull, and it is like hitting E75.
390 isn't low alpha, because Action X, M60, M48A, AMX30B all do the
same, and 400 alpha heavy tanks with 120mm as well. The problem is
the DPM, which is low.
