Why do Some Argue Against Skill Based MM?

How many are there now? what was the most games played you saw back then? The highest WN8?   Back then, how many ranked and clan reward premium tanks were in the game? How many would you see in a given random queue fight on average?   Did you pay-to-win or were you free to play?    I'm willing to bet the rules are actually very different for you at 5k games than it was for me at 5k games. There are more experienced players now, there are less new players, the top tier of player is even more experienced than what you faced. The meta has evolved significantly and is arguably harder on new players. Power creep is real, especially for reward and premium tanks.  It's easy to say that everyone being treated the same is fair when you're at the top of the food chain. It's an argument of privilege.  Not everyone learns to get better the same way. Not every player can learn by getting kicked in the teeth five thousand times. Sometimes people need an opportunity to make small victories to make progress.    Also, and I assume you know this but I'll say it out loud for you, this isn't a job. Some of us are really just playing this for fun and would like to be matched against people at around our own skill level to play a few games each day. Also some people have a lower ceiling of skill and should get an opportunity to enjoy themselves.

Draschel:  Irrelevant, moot, and unsubstantiated. Right now? You have premium ammunition. When Tsavo and I did things early on in Tanks History, premium ammunition cost gold and hardly anyone used it in public battle. That was insanity.Right now? You take (chocolate, tea, coffee, rations) large med/repair kit, automatic fire extinguisgher for granted. Before those cost gold. Everyone used manual fire ext. Right now? You have +2/-2 MM spread. When Tsavo and I did things early on, things could be up to +4/-4 for heavy tanks, scouts, artillery.  +3/-3 for mediums and TDRight now? You have battle pass, blueprints, boosters, crew exp booklets, tonnes of varied crew skills. We had 3 (firefighting, repair, camo) and none others for stock grinds What difference do the tanks you face now? Type 59, IS6, KV5, Jag tiger 88 may not see like a pain in the a-- now. But 7 years ago? In a tier 5 crusader or Stug III? Do you want to be part of that?I'd rather be in STA2 or FV4202, and be matched up against 260 and Chieftain, rather than getting demolished by someone 3 or 4 tiers above me, in a premium tank making 50-60k credits doing it.  This isn't a job. But likewise, it isn't the sort of game you think it is. This is not a singular, individual scroller like Tetris. It is defined as a multiplayer. You are a proponent to a larger team, thereby hold responsibility to them.
