That first thread you're referencing is Intern Stabby's post from the last time it was on sale, back in April. New sale, new forum post!
As for BrianTheBomber's thread, spreading awareness is certainly appreciated but having a thread show up in "staff posts" is always nice for visibility. Hence the official post.
