Ranked Battles are back with a host of changes and improvements that were made in response to your feedback. We're launching what I'd call something along the lines of another beta season, and we're calling it Ranked Battles Season X.
Season X is all about testing the new changes to Ranked Battles, of which there are quite a few. For a summary of all the changes, check out the embedded video below.
If you don't have time or the ability to watch a video right now, here's a quick summary:
Number of Tanks in a battle reduced to 10 per team, limited to 2 LT and 1 SPG per team.
Role experience requirements for certain subclasses was reworked, and a few additional subclasses were added.The number of Chevrons per battle as well as the logic by which Chevrons are awarded remains the same, but the chevron progression through ranks and the total number of required Chevrons to place in a League was reduced.
Season X will not be included in the Ranked Battles Token Progression, but there are plenty of rewards up for grabs, including Bonds and, if you're able to place in a League: a new piece of Purple Bond Equipment: Improved Turbocharger (which can further be enhanced by Turbocharger directives)
As I mentioned, I'm quite looking forward to this season. While it won't help me get a Carro, and it's probably not perfect, I think this iteration includes several broad changes that will make the Ranked Battles experience far more enjoyable. I'm most excited about the smaller format and additional restrictions for vehicle subclass.
