Why we get event codes late...

DomoSapien: Well, respectfully, the way you get the bull to follow is by using the tools at your disposal. And I understand the perspective of 'you're offering stuff that is gated behind hoops' - but consider the following: this stuff wouldn't be offered in the first place if the hoops didn't exist.

Are the missions a means to an end? Sure. We are pushing the buttons we have in front of us to influence certain types of behavior.  Here's the way I see it. I am not a developer. I don't have the ability to change certain aspects of the game that I take issue with, or improve the new player onboarding experience, tutorials, bootcamp etc. I do have all these tools in the form of different community activities I can try running outside of the game, to influence player behavior in the game itself.
Like, maybe I can't improve the tutorial and make it better at teaching new players our core mechanics, but maybe I can compile a series of tutorial videos from community contributors and create special personal missions that get sent to players weekly and tie in to the mechanic that is being presented in each video. Or take the Scavenger Hunt for example. It started as "how do we motivate players to visit our social channels" then evolved into "how do we get our community contributors involved and drive traffic to their channels". With that came the additional challenge of 'how do we make it so that people actually visit their channels and check out their content instead of simply waiting til the end of the month and getting their rewards from someone who took the time to copy+paste. Yes, it still happens with Scavenger Hunt codes, but it requires participants to be engaged with the event and follow along daily if they want all the rewards. Engagement with the community outside of the game tends to translate to engagement with the community inside the game. There are only so many avenues I can provide you with to make participating in the Scavenger Hunt as effortless as possible, it's up to you whether or not you choose to use them. If you don't like Discord, you don't have to use it. Follow us on Twitch, Facebook, or Youtube so you get notifications when we go live. Or just anticipate that there will be a code given out on Tuesday or Thursday every week.  My point is that the stream chain missions are a way to reward our regulars for being regulars, and offer an incentive for others so maybe they become regulars. There really is no underhanded motivation here, we're not trying to sell you anything, we just want you to come check out our stream. (inb4 well maybe if you were good streamers then people would watch your stream) Who knows, maybe you'll like what you see and stick around for the whole thing? I'm not going to sit here and defend the practice of using redemption codes for missions as a whole because I personally don't like it, but I have to operate under the assumption that there is a method to the madness and it actually serves some type of purpose (other than frustrating our forumgoers). When a code gets posted late, it's not because of incompetence or laziness as some have pointed out. Our content guys are up and in the office by like 6:30 to 7:00 AM like clockwork, every morning. They get posted late because the code isn't working and they don't want to frustrate players by posting a nonfunctional code. If it's late, it's probably because we're sounding the alarms, lighting signal fires, and sending smoke signals to get them fixed ASAP. Sure you could definitely call that incompetence but I don't think the incompetence rests solely with our content team, as the bonus code process is a global one.

And when I went back a bit later the same streamer told me I couldn't get it till it was released to the public. Well that passed for both premium members and the public and still no tank. My  premium time has since expired and I think it will stay that way for a while. It was just a tier 6 tank so probably would hardly play it anyhow, but I got fed up with no replies on private messages to WG  not read and no results.   Guess its just not important to watch streams !!!

DomoSapien:  Are you the guy who won the Bretagne Panther from Trobs? I think I forgot to follow up on that but consider that CC's as well as the person who works with them (me) are human beings and we are not infallible. CC's are supposed to run giveaways during the sale period of the vehicle, but Trobs got confused because of the wonky release cycle the money folks cooked up for the Bretagne Panther and T78. It genuinely was a mixup. EU Ran their sale at the end of June, we had our sale towards the end of July, it caused some confusion on all parts. I legitimately wasn't able to credit you the tank before the sale period.
I do apologize for the additional delay in getting back to you, though. As I mentioned in my recent post on the Scavenger Hunt, I have been getting tons of PM's on Discord and have a few projects that have been demanding a bit too much of my attention and I haven't been able to dedicate enough attention to the forums. We're really slammed with all the stuff we've got going on + prepping for D-Day Ohio so things have been a bit hectic on the Community team. I see you sent me a PM a little over a week ago, will get back to you and follow up on that today.
