wargaming. I don't even think this is wargaming NA's fault. They
complained about having 2 employees to do tank rewards, yet they
run several super bowl spots at 2.5 mil every 30 seconds. It
is not that hard to hire one person to update a website news
section, even over the holidays. With cms, you can even do it over
the phone. Sales or events are more difficult, but they had weeks
and months to lock it down. They should have been able to be done
by a lone employee over the holiday as well. Quickybaby said
wargaming sold 6 million lootboxes before new years, NA has a much
smaller playerbase but we have been plunking down cash as well.
More than enough to have a fully staffed NA office, which is
clearly not the case. This is more wargaming mismanagement than
anything WGNA related. We all just spent a s ton and are now flush
with gold, yet there isn't anything most of us can spend gold on.DomoSapien: I don't think it's a question of whether or not we can
afford to staff our office. It's moreso the fact that most of us
took vacation time to visit family in California, etc. Yes, month
previews are important for promotional purposes but so is treating
your staff like human beings and maintaining a healthy work/life
balance. ( Side note: I have been informed by the content team that
the month overview will be going up soon TM )
November and December are always extremely busy and extremely stressful for us, so a few days of paid time off to enjoy Christmas and New Years with loved ones are definitely very appreciated.
As for a lack of discounts on tech tree tanks: sure, they aren't huge but we had 15% off all tier VIII-X tech tree tanks, 15% off Tier VIII Premium Tanks, 50% off Exterior Customizations, 15% off 180 and 360 day PA, and free xp to crew xp conversion discounts from December 22nd to 29th. Additionally, you can earn some pretty massive discounts on Tech Tree tanks via Holiday Ops Festive Level rewards. Lots of missions and discounts for Thanksgiving and Black Friday as well. As for Tankrewards, aside from the fact that we don't have a dedicated web developer in our office, it was a passion project from the NA team that was sort of Frankenstein'ed together with basic data from our API. It was nice, but as a former Customer Support Rep, I can tell you that it was functionally pretty unreliable. Tracking your own points in Tankrewards was confusing and you didn't always get the reward levels that you should have, which meant having to file support tickets and prove to CS that you earned more points than the website listed. As far as I'm aware, Tankrewards is definitely coming back this year (barring unforeseen circumstances of course) and if all goes well, it'll be much better than it was before.
