The game is not giving them what they expect random to be. However, the error is not with the game, but with what people think random is. It is a well established fact that humans have an incorrect perception of random. So their "gut instinct" is telling them something is off, and they are correct. They just don't realize that the thing that is off is their perception of random, not the game's RNG or MM.
