DeviouslyCursed: I was addressing the "more low rolls than high" part, not the
mercy rolls. If by mercy rolls you mean just low rolls or bounces
in general, I'm going to say "BS." If you mean the tank would have
been destroyed, but it was close so the game rolled a saving throw
and if it passed, the tank stays alive with 1 hp, that's a
different thing. I was trying to keep track of the "1 hp left"
times versus other numbers from 2-9, but I ran into an issue of
simply noticing "1" more than the others when I was trying to keep
track. 1 hp tanks stand out. 2-9 not as much. So while I was
recording more "1 hp left" occurrences, I can't say for certain if
it was just me missing the other numbers. This of course has
to happen in mid to top tier. Low dmg auto guns in tiers 1-3 would
throw it off. But when you have guns that do 300+ damage, having 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 hp left should all at the same
frequency. I don't know of an easy way to check it unless there was
data on damage for each shot somewhere. You can simply exclude HE,
then see which numbers occur more often under 10, if any. If 1
damage kill shots are a lot more frequent than the other numbers up
to 9, then that would indicate 1 hp left is occurring more often
than random chance would allow, and would basically prove a "mercy
save" system was in place. Now, that's still not giving any player
an advantage, because if that was in effect, we'd all have that
chance for it to work for us, and against us.
