Should I Skip Work to Grind a Discount for Day 1 Purchase?

Because, even if you "skipped" your "normal job", you'd still be putting in a lot of "work effort" in grinding out a lot of discounts.   If it were me, I would go to work, earn my $$$, come home, play some leisurely games, earn some discounts, then consider buying the tank.   Look at it a different way. If you stayed home to grind out discounts on the tank, you may make it to, rough estimate, at most 50% in a single day. But, you'll STILL be paying probably around $35USD (price for the tank hasn't been released as of this post, so going with the typical @ $75USD for "marathon" tanks).    If you went to your "normal job", if you make at least $12USD per hour, you should be able to clear fully purchasing the tank when you got home. But, if you add in any discounts you could earn once you're home (which could easily be 20% discount in your time-frame), you will technically be coming out ahead. Plus, you save yourself some of the frustration that you may encounter playing the game. "Marathons" tend to bring out the same type of players that you get on "x5" weekends.

DeviouslyCursed:  Well, actually.... The company I work at has a habit of under-hiring for all the departments. Right now we all have to work OT each week to keep up. I work 1-2 hours, some work 5-10. Each week. Because of that, the department has been in a "unlimited OT" status for the last 4 months, and will likely stay that way at least through the end of the year. The job I do, the work keeps coming in whether you are there or not. Because everyone can't even get their own work done in a day, they can't get yours done while you are gone either. That means you have to make it up. Anytime you take PTO, whether planned or unplanned, you get behind. That means you work extra. Common sense says you work the makeup time the next week, where you are already getting 40 hours and everything extra is OT (1.5 times). (You don't want to work extra the week you took a day off because you didn't actually work 40 hours, and therefore it's not OT, just regular pay) What does all that mean? Basically, I don't work Friday, and use PTO to still get paid. Then I work Sunday to get all that work done, and since that is on the next week where I will also work M-F 40 hrs, I get paid 1.5 for the work on Sunday.  For that 8 hours of work I actually get paid 2.5 times for it (1.0 for PTO hours + 1.5 OT hours). I actually make more money by calling off and playing tanks. Hey, I'm not the Einstein in upper management that likes to under hire and makes this all possible. I just make it work for me :great:
