I'm a big fan of the game and I think the concept is pretty neat. I drive heavy and light tanks - specifically an IS and a Leopard, alternating between the two.
I have some questions
Firstly, as a Leopard driver, I have noticed I most often am killed by sniper artillery or heavies "one shot"'ing me. I try to maintain full speed and keep a perpendicular angle to the direction of fire but I'm not having much success. What advice do you have for staying alive and useful?
With the IS I'm not really sure what my role on the battlefield should be. If I advance near the front as a vanguard I find I get killed by artillery very quickly. To adapt to this I started finding keyholes behind houses and hills to avoid artillery fire, which works okay to avoid that, but then I wonder what the point of the turret might be. Wouldn't that tactic be more appropriate for a tank destroyer vehicle?
Also more broadly, I can't see any reason to invest in long range guns in the game. It's very difficult to hit anything beyond a hundred meters or so, especially when they're moving. Outside about two hundred meters (?) tanks start to "warp" around, jumping from place to place. That also makes hitting things at long range a task that seems to lend itself only to artillery. For those of you with the "long guns", what techniques do you use to get a good shot? Do you think the auto aim is important at all?
I'm just going to throw this out there... but is there any reason to have anything on the battlefield besides tank destroyers and artillery? What can the turreted vehicles do better?

ARGO: In a leo, use zig zag techniques keep moving, circle enemy tanks and let there arty hit their own men. Make sure you paths of travel have no predictability BE RANDOM in motion.
In an IS, you got the speed and the firepower + OK armor, You can do things bigger heavies can't, "keep up with most mediums" so become a medium tank killer. You can either stay close with scouts and put a hurt on anything that attacks them and assist in an arty hunt OR you can use it to defend your arty from mediums/scouts. Get your 122mm and set up your reticles in a manner that helps you better aim at distance and use HE on heavies. I used to pound on tiger 1 tanks with my IS.
