ARGO: Greetings,
I was on last night when all hell broke loose on the servers. Like you I tried everything under the sun to get my game up. Like you nothing worked. I started thinking about "The cause" 1st if was my machine, then if it was the new patch the Devs put out. Then I moved into the chat to see if i was the only one.....I was not. Seems the servers or something went down and no one was going to play for a while. Anyway, I started watching all the who ha on the chat which ofcourse was a never ending wave after wave of complaints and flame. Some honestly genuine and some just mean towards the Devs, Moderators, and Wargames. It was then I decieded to write this thread.
It's easy to forget sometimes that this IS only a Beta test, That the game is still under development "half baked" so to say and is being put together as we speak so accidents and problems will happen. I know a lot of you will think "I have heard this 1,000 times" and yes you have. You heard it from Overlord all the way down to the players....But it is true and it WILL happen from time to time. We all have to remember a few things before we decied to flame.
Mainly are you flaming for a legitamate reason? and Are you doing it prematurely?
I feel that despite all the problems last night and all the issues with handleing this crash, the Moderators should be commended for doing all they could to head off and quell as many player complaints as they could, It is not at all easy to be a moderator on a forum this big and it's even harder when things like this happen so to the Moderators I say thanks for your efforts, they are noticed.
To the players I remind you that like all things mechanicle there will always be the chance of a crash and that we and the Devs together are going through the learning process with this game engine, servers, as well as dealing with multiple nations. I guess what I am trying to say is that we have to as Beta testors try to be forgiving with these issues and help where we can. I am not saying we should like it and shut our mouths, but use incidents like this to assist the Devs and Mods with reasonable, accurate, reports unlike those individuals who thought it amusing to spam all over the chat box.
In closing I am not trying to tell anyone here how to live or play, I am just throwing an opinion out there on last night.
