So high scores do not count?

ARGO: This isn't a complaint more than it is a question. I got 5 kills in my VK3601 and I was at least 2-3 above the other team members and I did get all the exp+credits I earned but I thought it was wierd that I didn't get any kind of recognition for the most number of kills in that battle. How does that system work?
Has this happened to others?
